The Ombudsman


Phil Clarke is the current Queensland’s Ombudsman. He was appointed in January 2011 after a lengthy career in the Queensland public service that included leadership roles in the departments of education and training (1994-2004), emergency services (2005-6), local government (2006-9) and justice and attorney-general (2009-10).

Mr Clarke holds a Master of Regional Science from the University of Queensland, Diploma of Teaching from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Queensland University of Technology.

He is a member of the International Ombudsman Institute, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of the Planning Institute of Australia.
