Classification and Movement of Prisoners Report (2009)

This investigation reviewed Queensland Corrective Services’ (QCS) process for the security classification, placement and transfer of prisoners. The report found that there were failures by delegates to give adequate reasons for decisions about security classifications to prisoners and for officers to record and/or give prisoners adequate reasons for placement decisions.  The report also found that QCS failed to advise all prisoners of their rights under the Corrective Services Act 2006. The report was tabled on 23 July 2009.
