Underground Coal Gasification Report (2012) This investigation examined the administrative actions of the relevant departments in approving the Kingaroy Underground Coal Gasification project, issuing the relevant environmental authority and monitoring the project. The Ombudsman made 16 recommendations to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection and the Department of Natural Resources and Mines to improve their decision-making processes.
