Training

One of the ways the Queensland Ombudsman supports fair and accountable public administration is by helping agencies improve their practices. As the oversight agency for public interest disclosures, we also provide education and advice to agencies.
We have 2 free self-paced modules to ensure public sector officers across the state can access training.
These modules were tested during a pilot period. We incorporated user feedback and listened to the request to keep access free. There are no restrictions on user numbers.
Do you make administrative decisions for government services?
Good Decisions – Essentials helps you gain confidence to use a framework to make fair, defensible and consistent decisions in public administration.
Have you seen wrongdoing in government and not known what to do with it?
Public Interest Disclosures – Essentials helps you know what a PID is, how to make one, and understand what protections and responsibilities apply. Making a PID is sometimes called ‘whistleblowing’.
Relevant, free training you can do anywhere, at any time
You can access training at a time that suits you, from any location or device (laptop or mobile) you choose makes learning accessible. This training:

Good Decisions – Essentials
A concise overview of things to consider when you make administrative decisions in a government agency.
Sometimes agencies use non-government entities (contractors) to deliver services to the community. Employees of those entities may also benefit from this training as the Ombudsman can directly investigating a non-government entity that is performing a function of an agency.
