This collection notice sets out those matters, and explains how we will manage the collection, use, disclosure and storage of your personal information.
We may collect your personal information to help us with a review or inspection of a detention service under the Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022 (IDS Act). The information may be used in a report, however we will not name you in a report.
Information may be collected from you by asking for your submissions, and also from current detainees, third parties or officials relevant to the inspection or review. We may also access information about detainees on the department databases that we have access to.
In very limited circumstances we may provide your information (or information about detainees or others that you tell us about) to an agency, for example if you tell us about corruption or a person being harmed.

Our QPP privacy policy explains how you may request access to and/or correction of your personal information. Our policy also explains how you can complain to us if you consider we have breached our obligations to manage your personal information in accordance with the QPPs, and how we deal with privacy complaints.
