The Regulation of Mine Safety in Queensland Report was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday 17 June 2008.

The report presented the findings of the Queensland Ombudsman's own initiative investigation into the Queensland Mines Inspectorate (QMI) and whether it is adequately performing its role.

The investigation sought to identify any defective administrative action on the QMI’s part and recommend improvements to its practices and procedures.
