Queensland Ombudsman, David Bevan (2001 – present)

David Bevan, Queensland’s fifth Ombudsman, was appointed in September 2001.
David’s career in the public sector spans more than three decades and includes the positions of:
- Crown Prosecutor
- Legal Adviser within the Queensland Solicitor-General’s Office
- Assistant Parliamentary Counsel in the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel.
Immediately prior to his appointment as Ombudsman, David was Director of the Official Misconduct Division of the former Criminal Justice Commission (now the Crime and Misconduct Commission).
David holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Queensland and was admitted as a barrister in 1973.
